Animal Shelter in Bloomfield, NJ Needs Help!
The John A. Bukowski Animal Shelter, which is located in Bloomfield, NJ is having a difficult time trying to keep it’s doors open. The shelter, which has been around for over 40 years, is run by the town of Bloomfield and their animal control serves both Bloomfield and Caldwell. The budget for the animal shelter is being drastically cut, which may result in the shelter being shut down. Apparently the shelter has been a topic of conversation for years within the township because the Glendale Cemetery is right next to the shelter and they have wanted to property for a while now so they can expand. If the shelter were to close all the strays and homeless animals would be brought to the Associated Humane, which is located in Newark. This shelter is already overwhelmed with animals and if pets don’t get adopted right away they can be put down within 7 days by law. In order to prevent this from happening the shelter is asking for donations for help, you can visit their facebook page to read more and find out how you can help through donations!
