But there are a few tips that might help keep the holiday cheerful for everyone, including your dog. Dogs have gotten used to their routine and the lay of the land, therefore by simply moving a chair or table can create stress for your dog. They may become insecure because they are not sure what is going, and if you get too busy the dog may feel like he is being pushed aside. To help maintain the stable environment they have become used to make sure you keep to their walking, exercise, and obedience training schedule. Also, make sure you keep your dog’s water bowl filled with water. When it comes [...]

NJ Dog Travel Tips

Before your family heads off on summer road trips and vacations, please keep in mind these travel tips for pet travel safety: Buckle up – Always be sure to restrain your pet when traveling in your automobile. An unrestrained pet can distract the driver and injure themselves and the driver in an accident. Location – Make sure you keep your pets out of the front seat unless they are secure in a booster seat, that will not trigger the air bag in case there is an accident. Remember pets should be secured in the backseat or cargo area of the vehicle for their safety and yours as well. Reduce distractions – Walk your dog or play with them before you put them in the car. This will help ensure that your pet is calm and will be less of a distraction to you while you are driving, so that your focus can stay on the road. Make them comfortable – Make sure you bring water, food, snacks and their favorite toy or blanket in the car so they can enjoy the ride too. Happy and Safe Traveling!
