I know I have the same issue with my dog Champ, I will buy his these stuffed squeaky toys and within a couple of days I am seeing the stuffing all over the floor and the squeaker part in his mouth. It got to the point where the only toys I was buying him were the ropes because I know it would take him forever to destroy those. I got to thinking that there had to be some toys out there that could be fun for my dog, but would also last at the same time. I found a few toys that could easily be made by the NJ dog owner with materials that could easily be found in the home. Predigree Good Bites for Dogs in NJ

Have you ever thought about what kind of dog treats to get your pooch? Which brand is the best and which one will give you the most for your money? I have been there many times, I want to give my Shiba’s a treat that they will enjoy, but also something that will be beneficial to them in some way, such as something for their teeth or for a shiny coat. Well one day while I was shopping in Petsmart I came across the Pedigree dog treats and looking at what they had to offer. I found the Pedigree Good Bites Skin & Coat, which would really help Jersey because her fur can be a little greasy at times. I also saw the Pedigree Good Bites Multi-Vitamin, I figured I would get that as well so they can get the right amount of vitamins in their system. Well I am very happy with the Skin & Coat treat because Jersey’s fur is still a little greasy at times but for the most part it is very soft and makes it more enjoyable to pet her. Now with the multi-vitamin it’s a little difficult to tell if it’s working, but I [...]

Can Your Dog Read Your Mind in NJ

Are dogs capable of reading our minds? Sometimes it appears as though they are psychic and able to anticipate what we are going to do or say. Research has show that there is a secret behind this: they track our eye movements, which can be ties to intent. It has been said that dogs are receptive to human communication in such a way that was previously attributed to only six month old infants. They are able to read our intention to communicate in an infant like manner. Researchers have said that a dogs social skills can reach the level of a two year old, since the only thing they are missing is language. Dogs may use a different way to process human communication, but they are still able to play the role of being a substitute for a child. It is interesting to see how strong the bond between a dog and human can be especially since there are so many biological differences between the two. The possible reason for such a strong bond is because dogs are curious about us. They are interested in finding out how we think, and the interesting thing about that is they are able to do [...]

Can Your Dog Drink Beer in NJ

Have you ever wondered if your dog could drink beer? or have you given your dog a little sip in hope that it won’t do anything to them? Well there is a pub called the Branding Villa in South Gosforth, Newcastle that has come up with a menu that is pet friendly. The pub is currently selling a beer that has been designed for dogs so that drinker’s and their pooches can share a beer at the same time. The Branding Villa has a traditional style to it, but with a modern twist, which includes dog owners with their pets to be able to enjoy the atmosphere. The pub thought it would be more interesting to start serving beer and non-alcoholic beverages for pets instead of just water. The beer is made with hops and malt, but also includes meat extract. Dogs seem to have a great thirst for the beverage since the villa has to reorder fresh stock after the first 48 bottles ran out the first night. The pub not only decided to start selling beer for dogs, but they also created a menu designed specially for our four legged pooches. Some of the dishes served to the [...]

Do Dogs Pay Attention to the Television in NJ

You can have your dog sit in front of the television screen and it may not pay close attention to what it sees, but if you show a person on the screen that looks directly at your dog and says “Hello,” then your dog will pay attention. Studies have shown that dogs will follow the gaze of the human on the screen when he or she looks to one side of the other. Researchers have known that dogs were so attuned to human communication signals. Dogs not only learn commands, but can signal where a human puts an object if the human pretends to not know where the object is, they also follow the direction of our fingers when we point at something. However, are dogs able to follow more subtle cues, such as our changing gaze? Scientists have come up with a study to determine if dogs can follow our gaze. Dogs are to watch a woman on a video screen who has plastic pots on either side of her. The woman will either look straight at the camera and say “hi dog” or she will look downward and say “hi dog” in a lower voice pitch. As each [...]
